The NSVFD Live-In program is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in the fast-pace and ever-changing world of the fire service. NSVFD has a vast force of firefighters who are “Live-ins.” But, what is a Live-in you may ask? A Live-in is a person who responds to Fire, EMS, and Rescue calls in our service area, that help maintain equipment and contribute to our team at NSVFD. While doing all these amazing deeds, a Live-in is assigned to one of the three shifts, and actually lives at one of our fire stations.
Every year we go on an average of 1000+ calls where we respond and help the people of our service area, and mutual aid to our neighboring Fire Departments. Every one of these calls will mold you into a first responder with an ever growing resume for your next step in your career. NSVFD also has a healthy budget dedicated to our Live-ins for training and career development. We pay for your training, saving you thousands of dollars that would be paid out of pocket. The NSVFD Live-in program is truly one of the best ways to start your career in this rewarding field.
